This is a great read to start off the day. I'm really excited about the football season being just around the corner! This is great, especially coming from an AFC West Rival's Fan. Davey says,

"As a Denver Broncos fan I can say this...LaDainian Tomlinson is the finest running back I have ever seen play the game and I hope he stays healthy and ends up in Canton. Pure class, pure stud, pure role model for future athletes."

I can't wait until the football season starts!!!

That Michael Vick for LT trade in 2001 is looking pretty good right now.

I don't know if this headline is funny or not. On CNNSI.com, there's an article about Keyshawn Johnson. Here's the headline:

Perfect fit
Keyshawn Johnson will be NFL's equivalent of Barkley

Eyp, I think that's pretty funny.

Last night's episode of the The Office was brilliant. I haven't laughed that hard since Wednesday, when I watched Monday's episode of How I Met Your Mother. (That episode, by the way, was the best episode I've seen of the show.

Ted: Marshall, I can't marry you
Marshall: Why not?
Ted: Because I marry someone I've had a farting contest with.

My life has been consumed by powers that I don't really feel like posting about. At least not now. Work, school, fun, and planning for the future. The details - I'll go into more at another time. Though in real life, it's a staple of mine to declare outrageous proclamations (usually for shock or to get a cheap laugh), I don't want to get burned, especially on the "planning for the future" item. As always, I'm going to focus on trivial things.

What the heck is up with the Warriors??? They should be up 2-0. I'm a little down on them, but I haven't jumped off the bandwagon quite yet. I still think they'll be able to even up the series at home. How sweet would it be if the Warriors played the Suns in the Western Conference Finals? First one to 200 points wins the game.

Dirk Nowitzki's going to add 'NBA Regular Season MVP' to his resume? You've got to be kidding me! I made a comment on ESPN a few weeks ago about how stupid the definition of the NBA MVP is. I'm not going to get into that today. It's ridiculous that Dirk would win the MVP. He's the best player on the best team in the NBA. Big fuckin' whoop. Dirk doesn't make that team great - their system does. Their style of play is the brain child of Avery Johnson. Dirk is merely a cog (admittedly, probably their best cog) in a system good enough to win 67 games. One standard argument people like to use is, "Take Dirk off that team and how many games do they win?" I'd say, "45." "Dirk's worth 22 games then, right?" If you take Kobe or LeBron off their teams, both of those teams are headed to the lottery. Nash, who I think should be the MVP, he's a whole different kind of beast. Unlike Dirk, Steve Nash is the system. He's not a cog in the machine - he's engineering the damn machine. (Some people think the Suns are talented enough to win 45 games without Steve Nash. In my opinion, that's a load of crap. Nash makes every player on that team better.) So, in the final analysis, the MVP should have been LaDainian Tomlinson.

@_@

Those would be my eyes watching the fourth quarter of the Mavs/Warriors game. Unreal. After watching this, I think a lot of people in the press need to rethink whether Dirk Nowitzki is the MVP of the league, who often is unable to be found the fourth quarter of close or big games lately. Maybe Nash should get a third MVP...

Anyways, my cousins came over last night. My cousin Den and my brother fed me the crack that is World of Warcraft. It took three hours to install, but in the end, I'd say that it was well worth it.

Over the past few months I've been getting some really sharp pains in my neck. I hate it. If I ever become a doctor someday, I'm going to consider Head and Neck, because this shit sucks.

This clip is unreal. It's pretty standard, I guess, but when they start using their guitars like a set of bongos, you can see why their shows sell out.

Those Baywatch cameras, Hollywood makeup artists, and whatever other beautifying means actors and models use must be amazing. They're really doing something right. Check out this picture of a tore up Pamela Anderson.

I never saw what the big deal was about her in the first place. Her personality just rubs me the wrong way. In a beauty pageant featuring former "Tool Time" hostesses (from the under-rated sitcom, Home Improvement) Pamela Anderson and Debbie Dunning, it's a no brainer. Heidi takes it all - by a long shot.

And I found these photos posted in Miss Gossip's NBA Fanhouse Blog. The Blogger seems to have a thing for likening basketball players to animals...

Last night's Laker game was a complete disappointment. Not that I want to delve into the woes that have been troubling the Lakers of late (I'm not going to give that to Laker Haters of the world so easily). Kobe's still amazing, but going down the final stretch of the season, the Lakers aren't playing with Kobe's clutch mentality. It doesn't bode well for the Lakeshow. S-W-E-E-P may be the spelling bee word of the first round for my boys in purple and gold.

Another item that came up in news today was that Al Wilson, LB for the Denver Broncos is being let go. The Chargers need a MLB. I've always loved the way he plays. He's a sideline to sideline LB with great speed and great instincts.

I decided to enroll in a class at UCSD Extension. Fun stuff, being a student and all. Extension is way cooler than undergraduate classes. The lack of emphasis on tests is awesome. It really makes the learning experience more enjoyable. Plus, I have to pay for this class out of my own pocket (since my company won't reimburse me). Paying for my class is probably the biggest motivator for me. If I had to pay for my classes when I was at UCLA, I probably would have attended lecture more.

For my UCLA brethren and UCLA fans, what is Arron Afflalo thinking!?!?!?!?

Last night, I watched "The Departed." I don't watch too many movies, but when it comes to the 'Drama' genre, one of my favorite themes is the 'Crooked Cop' motif. The movie didn't disappoint. I was stressed as hell throughout most of the movie. If you haven't seen it, definitely watch it.

I watched the 'World of Warcraft' episode of South Park during my lunch break. I thought it was hilarious. I wonder how much time they had to put into filming the in-game scenes.

That show is brilliant! Butters, you crack me up.

After a long day in the office, I felt like going home and vegging out for the rest of the night. I stopped at Costco, Mission Valley, to pick up a chicken bake for dinner, and lo and behold right in front of me in line is Eric Parker's wife and kids. I didn't know that they were Eric Parker's (not that he's a big name or anything, but he's the #2 wide receiver for the Chargers) family until I saw a dude about my brother's height, lanky, and elvish-looking sporting a Tennessee Volunteers shirt picking up one of the kids. In my mind, I'm thinking, No way. that can't be who I think that is. #88 shops at Costco like the rest of us.

I think he caught on to me staring at him. I should have said something. Oh well. I managed to get a glimpse of his ride: a 2006 Toyota Sienna. That was the highlight of my day.
